Mouseferatu 9vampire mouse)

I wrote this for a competition in Mousehunt. I'm not expecting to win, but it's fun to write and get other people to comment.

“Black Widow, there have been reports of a vampire mouse terrorising this area,” a bionic mouse whispered to the police.
“Don’t be silly, vampires can’t survive here – they need special cheese,” the black widow mouse chuckled.
“They say it sucks the blood of other mice and kills them. And black widow mice seem to be its favourite.”

Black Widow sets out in search of the vampire mouse seen around that area. She travelled around for a while then stops and rest on a tree at the harbour, near to the kingdom. It was a good spot where many mice pass by. At least I can see the sun rise if nothing exciting happens, she thought. Below her, many mice passed by, and several hunters came to set their trap, but nothing extraordinary seems to happen. After a long wait, she decided that the vampire’s not going to appear. That was when it emerged.
It was a small mouse, so small she didn’t realise its existence even when it dropped onto her branch. It made such small movements Black Widow thought it was the wind. It was not until the tiny mice lunged at her when she noticed it. Despite being surprised, Black Widow managed to dodge the attack. Doing so, she fell off the branch and landed on the ground. Ignoring the bruises she had, she darted into the bush. The vampire mouse dropped from the branch and advanced towards her. Black Widow ran a short distance, then suddenly turned and struck the vampire with her paws and fangs. She jumped back when she felt that she bit into something cold. At that very moment the vampire swiped at her with its paw. She landed nearly a metre away. The vampire sprinted towards her, and she barely had the time to stand up before the mouse reached her. She turned and knocked the tiny mouse aside.
After that it was all claws, teeth and blood. The vampire mouse, small and agile, dodged Black Widow’s attacks, but Black Widow was experienced and with every strike she got closer to reading its movement. The vampire mouse sensed this, and tried not to move in a fixed pattern, but alas, it was young and inexperienced.
Just as the sun was about to rise, Black Widow’s deadly claw struck the vampire mouse, knocking it into a tree. At once Black Widow was upon the stunned mouse; tearing at it with her claws and biting it as if it was a piece of Super Brie. Now the young mouse was pinned under Black Widow’s claws and unable to move.
Just before the final blow, the vampire mouse gasped, “I’m too young to die. Spare me.”
Black Widow hesitated. She had been so caught up with fighting she didn’t notice that the mouse was only a tiny newborn. Without parents, the mouse was probably defenceless before it became a vampire. It is so young it probably doesn’t know what’s wrong and what’s right, thought Black Widow.
“Never, I repeat, never step a foot near the kingdom ever. Go to the place where vampires dwell, return to where your ancestors came from, understand?”
“Yes,” the tiny mouse was struggle for its breath.
Black Widow released her grip. She stared at the mouse for a long time, and then she turned and prepared to leave. That was when she felt a piercing pain on her neck.

That night, Gwania lost their most trusty policemice.

“You want power?” quizzed a vampire mouse.
“Y... ... yesz,” the baby white mice replied, it was small and weak, shivering continuously and thin enough for you to see its ribs.
“Why?”
“Revenge... ... to slay those that took my family away from me,” hissed the tiny white mice. From the small and weak figure, she suddenly grew to be so strong, her eyes were red with anger, her body tensed and ready to strike, her teeth showing and her tail lashing out at the shadows behind her.
